We are working together to win bold investments for care across the lifespan, to elevate care as an issue that requires bold policy solutions, and popularize the notion that care is infrastructure.

Care was thrust into the spotlight during the Covid-19 pandemic, but so many Americans have quietly been struggling — often painfully and in isolation — with the pressures and impossible choices related to caring for our families. From child care to paid leave to long-term care, Covid-19 helped us see that, while our families are indeed our responsibility, it’s not our fault that we struggle to manage or afford the care we need. We need public policy solutions, now more than ever.

In 2020, we produced a paper outlining the care solutions that families of all kinds would need, specifically noting how Black, Indigenous, people of color (BIPOC), disabled and immigrant women’s experiences must be central to our economic recovery from the pandemic and beyond. We continue to refine our policy agenda and campaign for a comprehensive care infrastructure for all of us.

Because #CareCantWait.
