Our Vision

We believe care is at the center of our families, communities, and economy. Every person will need to give or receive care at some point in their lifetime, yet millions of families struggle with the high cost of care while the care workforce remains underpaid and undervalued. We’re fighting for sustained federal investments to build a durable, equitable care system that works for everyone.

Our Mission

We work to:

  • Make care more affordable and accessible for all families
  • Ensure care workers receive living wages, benefits, and the right to join a union
  • Elevate care – from child care to paid leave to aging and disability care – as an essential public good requiring bold investment and policy solutions
  • Ensure that our solutions leave no one behind

Our History

Long before the COVID-19 pandemic, American families struggled to find and afford care for their loved ones. But the pandemic brought the crisis to a whole new level, exposing the dangers  of our fragile care systems and the impossible choices families face. In 2020, our coalition formed to advocate for generational investments in care – from child care to paid leave to aging and disability care – as essential to economic recovery from the pandemic and our long-term economic well-being . Since then, we’ve grown into a powerful movement of families and workers, advocating for historic investments in our caregiving systems.

Because #CareCantWait.
